Ben Ainslie Racing HQ, Portsmouth

Ben Ainslie Racing (BAR) was launched on June 10th 2014 (then later renamed Land Rover BAR in June 2015). The team was conceived by four times Olympic gold medalist and 34th America’s Cup winner, Sir Ben Ainslie, with the long-term aim of challenging for Britain and bringing the America’s Cup back home to where it all began in 1851.

This on going project (at the time of writing - Sep2015) involves Lansdowne surveying the outer steel frame which wraps around the already complete building. Attched to this steel frame is a series of lufttracks, it's btwn these tracks that a high tensile facbric material is hung/attached.

Once surveyed, a 3D model (see below) is passed onto the designers who then manafacture each panel, each of these giant panels are manafactured to a tolerance of just a couple of mm.

An artists impression of the finished building can be seen below, lights will be placed behind the panels to illuminate the red, white and blue colour scheme.
